In partnership with KIT London, Lyndhurst Drive is an unused plot of land which is located on the corner of Leigh Road and James Lane and is within the Borough of Waltham Forest.

The aim of this proposal is to negotiate with the landscape of the site through layers to create a contextual yet contemporary build that sits considerately in its context. The design seeks to contribute to the future ethos of Leytonstone and its community; encouraging quality design and finish.

The proposal comprises of 6 mixed apartment types of varying sizes across three floors. They have been designed to be contemporary and spacious to support future families in Leytonstone. Through the addition of specialist finish concrete, the apartments convey the sentiment of urban agriculture and encourage sustainable living with an emphasis on farm-to-table living. The design does this through the integration of the kitchens and allotment style gardens which establishes the prior biodiversity of the site.

The scheme recognises the constraints of the site’s orientation and angles and responds to this by combining a beautiful range of family living spaces with clever forms of navigation though the building that celebrates its corner aspect and close proximity to a family park.
